The project is funded by EU FP7 Framework and lasts for 4 years.The main objective of this post is to develop and implement novel computer vision and learning algorithms for human activity analysis (gesture, gaze and facial expression) especially tempo-spatial gaze pattern analysis and behaviour patterns analysis of ASD children. More specifically, the primary duties include:



  • Developing mechanisms identifying and extracting the most relevant components of the available sensory data, mainly from RGB-D and image data

  • Tracking features of human activities of ASD child, especially gaze and gestures

  • Extracting emotional cues of human activities of the ASD child

  • Investigating fusion methods for robust human activity recognition

  • Writing timely reports, publish research papers and documenting software

  • Presenting work to internal and external project partners and carry collaborative research

  • Assisting in supervision of research students of the group




  • For this post you will have:


  • A Doctorate or be close to being awarded in Computer Vision or Machine Learning

  • A strong publication record at principal computer vision conferences or journals

  • The ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Strong software development and computer programing in C++ and Matlab employing computer vision and image processing techniques

  • A brief statement of research interests describing your and future plans experience related to the advertised position

  • You will be required to provide a CV and a cover letter with a brief statement stating how your research experience and research interests fit with the post
